BeatrootsBeatRoots
is an African Percussion unit who plays a range of pieces from traditional African rhythms to its own original upbeat and easy to dance to beats. Members of the group consist of Kenji and Fera on Djembes playing groovy rhythms that accentuate the base rhythms and bring high energy solos to the group. Leo on boogooraboo, a drum with cow skin that produces soft melodic tones simular to a conga. The rythyms played on the boogooraboo compliment the driving base rhythms of the dun-duns played by Maiko.  Played together we produce a tradition yet new and unique sound of tribal and ‘dancy’ beats.
