This Year's line-up includes the greatest colection of talent form the Far North, including:
Shane Howard

Shane Howard pic

In 1982, Shane Howard's massive anthem "Solid Rock" from the album "Spirit of Place", (recorded with his legendary band "Goanna"), reverberated across the airwaves and still does today. More recentlly, Shane was in the Far North with fellow bard Neil Murray and Shane continues to produce great music and is involved in many projects, supporting home grown music, the environment and indigenous Australia.


Zenith

Raging out of Kuranda this 6 piece Hip-Hop Reggae family team is on Fire. After a massive gig at the Kuranda Roots festival these boys r ready to burn the stage at Envirofiesta. Get ready for some hard hitting lyrics wild crowd work and serious reggae from Zenith.

Patchooka

After rocking the Winter Solstice festival this band just keeps morphing and growing way beyond their hometown. Born in the desolate cultural landscape that is Townsville this crew has wowed audiences all over the east Coast. As Envirofiesta is an old time favourite of theirs this crew is sure to deliver some big sound funk and reggae

Hot Rubber Glove

For those old timers of Cairns you will definitely remember HRG. Arising in Cairns in the early 90’s this band went from funky to fat and then left town. Rocking Brisbane for a good 5 years this band has done many a festival up and down the East Coast. After rocking the Roots festival with the sweet sounds of Dub and some rocking funk tracks this band has it all.

Peep Show

Cairns had HRG in the 90’s now in the naughties we have the Peep Show. With their magical vocals, a fat trumpet and the rest this band has been making Cairns proud of their funk. Unstoppable feet movers this crew s ready to groove u.

Powada

Indigenous rock at its best. This favourite of Cairns is almost set to put out their debut Album and are keen to show the audience just what good rock is all about.

The Decomposers

The sounds of smooth sweet jazz from the hills of Kuranda. Highly experienced musicians make up this quality band

I & I Tuala

This crew create some of the sweetest Island time reggae this side of the carribean. Well known in the Cairns region and hot off their performance at the Roots festival these guys will deliver.

Millka

Well this band is something u cant give one flavour to. They bring a big world together with their mix of instruments and styles. Tegans voice is magical. One to catch.

Hit Like A Girl

Cairns only percussion group. This crew will, despite their name, bring some full-throated rhythms to the festival. With well practised material from both Africa and Japan these girls will keep u on your feet.

Jerimaha and The Charles Darwin Band

Headed by one of cairns hot new songwriters and fresh off an east coast tour including headlining the massive Peace Convergence at Rockhampton. These guys are one of the champions of social justice.

Lakota

World music with a distinct local touch. With one of the most diverse percussion racks and moving vocals this group will take you on blissful journeys.

Silo

With soulful melodic rock taking you on journeys with dolphins and swaying palm trees this old time rocker will soothe the hardest of punks.

Spiral Sound System

Urban Dub with some smooth funk. This crew of electronic wizards will work their magic.

Jabiluka Rose

A collection of Forest folk, Latin grooves and Gypsy Rhythms will delight and move the lucky who catch them.

Koalition

A true collation of the willing. Working hard to put out the message of peace and love. Another band that rocked the Roots festival this family band from the lands west of Kuranda are always well received.

The Gospel train choir

Old songs and new this 20+ piece choir will give us some quality respite from al those loud bands

Barry Cedric

Made famous for his moving performances at the Laura dance festivals Barry has been gifting the north with his strong style of country folk.

Simone Elias

One of the stars of last years Yungaburra folk festival. Simone has been continuing to shine as her rich talent takes on the experience she is going places.

Shells

A lovely blend of original folk driven home by one of Far Norths sweetest emerging voices.

Sian

This girl has some power in her voice. Her gutsy rootsy flavour stirs the hardest heart and brings home a strong message. Maturing into a wonderful mother this young woman has some great material. Come early to catch her.

Emmaline

Bringing her rich Maori and western music experiences together this lady sings straight from the heart. Her original music has stories that everyone can relate to.

Bob Vidler

Well known for his strong lead in one of Cairns greatest rock bands the Killer Bees Bob is now out on his own for a stint. A true soldier of culture this man can rock it even without the backings of a great band
